INOS Dissemination activities

The INOS consortium focused on several dissemination actions targeting at the increase of awareness and the presentation of the latest results of the project. Dissemination of the final baseline INOS device and, additionally, of the side results of the ongoing activities was based on field experiments (focusing to specific interest groups) and participation in several events. The information exchange with the scientific and research Community was achieved through participation in “concertation meetings” and associated clustering activities during several exhibitions and workshops.

The INOS's project dissemination activities are summarized in the following:
  • ØParticipation in “REGATE” conference in May 26th 2005, (Izethoe, Germany), where INOS basic technology goals were explained
  • ØParticipation in RF-MEMS Workshop Cluster Meeting in June 22nd 2005 (Lausanne, Switzerland)
  • ØParticipation at Hannover Fair 2005 to communicate INOS project and results achieved, to address new markets for INOS-like packages
  • ØVisit of University of Bologna to develop new application and project ideas for sensor packaging
  • ØParticipation in “Israel Gateways” exhibition Nov 9, 2005 Tel Aviv, Israel. The IDS600 development board was presented together with a standing demo of the imaging/video processing capabilities that will be enhanced in INOS device (lens + pre-processing block + h.264 core)
  • Presentation of INOS packaging results at Biotechnica 2005 trade show
  • Participation in Electronica 2004, 9.-12. November, the main show targeting designers and developers of applications-oriented electronic circuitry and
products. A full display cabinet was dedicated for the presentation of INOS project. The ds500 test board was also exhibited.

Hannover Fair MicroTech's Booth INOS Exhibited Samples
MicroTechnology is the leading Trade Fair for Applied Microsystems Technology and Nanotechnology microTEC´s booth is well visited by SME-s, industrial companies, R&D organizations, an excellent opportunity to disseminate INOS project results and exploit new market opportunites. Since project start microTEC has been updating industrial customers as well as the R&D organizations on latested INOS results. In 2006 about 300 visitors stopped by and learned about INOS project.

INOS has currently developed a system that streams a H.264 video stream over TCP or HTTP to multiple video clients. In addition, there are configuration tools that are used to select the quality of the stream and also to fine tune various parameters of the video. Most of these software tools are based on open source software and are available for downloading through this web site. The system is based on a hardware development board (DS600) which is designed and produced within the INOS project.
